Profile:
Coming from a musical family I started playing the guitar at 7
than progressed to the flute. I started to get into art more and
after high school went to the San Francisco Art Institute. During
this time I started doing break-in parties in San Francisco in the
early 90's. I met a lot of people in the underground scene doing
the same thing. Carlos, Dutch, and Christoph, Tribal Funk and
their waterfront renegades, Wicked and their the Full Moon
parties, Friends & Family, and the Half Moon parties where I saw
Darcy play for the first time. As a result of these happenings I
met the Funky Tekno Tribe Crew who would show me a lot and expose
me to a lot of artists. After our crew went their separate ways I
graduated from the Institute and went to the east coast. There I
met a lot of people and started to play a lot of underground
parties in New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts.
At the time I was doing a lot of Co-production and remix work in
the hip-hop and D&B world. I would later meet a good friend
Dewayne Saunders and he would introduce me to Brian Carters. Brian
was just starting to mix and was planning to do some house parties
in Connecticut. Naturally we hit it off and started rocking the
Northeast. Brian started Beatroute and did the first ever boat
party in Connecticut. During this time Brian took me to Body&Soul
in NYC. When we started going it was barely the first year.
Body&Soul in the early years was very exciting. Every week you
would see a House producers and singers live on stage. All these
experiences would eventually bring about Garden of Life
recordings.
I than travelled to Europe for more inspiration and found a
residency in Italy. This would change everything for me. A home
away from home. After six months I returned said my goodbyes and
headed back home to San Francisco. I reunited with a lot of
friends. One of them was the Houseblends crew. We used to party in
the early 90's and well you guessed it, we're back at it again.
Chris Tune of Houseblends would join up with me and we would make
the name GardenBlends. So if your in town look us up. You might
catch us in the act of doing what we love. Be on the look out for
our Bayview E.P. out this summer. Peace and Chicken Grease.
