Chris first got into djing in 1989 when he was 13 yrs old influenced by older friends that did mobile djing around the neighborhood. 3yrs. Later Chris would start up his own mobile dj crew with friends doing weddings, birthdays, and school dances. After about a year of doing that he got burned out and just stop djing all together. A year later Chris attends his first rave in San Francisco and discovers San Francisco’s underground house music scene. After witnessing dj’s such as Mark Farina, Jeno(wicked crew), Garth(greyhound). Chris was inspired to start djing again the year is 1994. Chris would practice day and night in his bedroom for about a year. In 1995 Chris (now going under the name dj tune) meets Dj Bloom and with his best friend Abdul they would start up the houseblends crew throwing underground parties together. The year is now 1997 Tune gets a job at Daddy’s Records in Berkeley, CA a small underground record store specializing in house music. The year is now 1998 tune continues to dj raves and underground parties. He also hosts a Monday night happy hour at the Top a dj bar in San Francisco’s infamous lower Haight. In 1999 Tune discovers his love for the deeper side of house music.

The year now being 2000 Tune takes some big steps. He gets his first international gig Earthdance in Calgary, Alberta Canada playing with the likes of Joeski and the Hardkiss brothers. He also gets his first residency at the Skylark a dj bar in San Francisco’s Mission district with partner Val de Soul they would start up Talk’n soul. A year later in 2001 Tune gets booked to play in Kingston (eyezcream prod.), and Toronto (poundhouse prod.) Ontario with one of his favorite producers The Rurals. Later that year he would travel to Colorado to play Boulder for humble souls crew and Denver’s milehighhouse crew. In 2002 Tune takes a trip to England where he get his first taste in the studio working on a track with Andy Compton and Marie Tweek of the Rurals. He also gets a taste of London’s nightlife getting a chance to play at club Play. Tune returns from England and decides to leave the Skylark to concentrate on his own parties (talk’n soul) with Val de Soul. He also teams up with fellow djs Mike Anon, Abdul, and John Conrad to do monthly called Influence.
